Privacy Policy

Effective: October 13, 2026 Last updated: October 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ShroomCap Games (“ShroomCap,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you play our mobile games, visit shroomcapgames.com, or contact us. It also explains the choices and rights you have.

Contents

1. Who we are

ShroomCap Games is an independent mobile game studio. We are responsible for (the “controller” of) the personal information described in this policy.

This policy applies to:

  • our games for iPhone, iPad and Android devices (our “games”);
  • our website, shroomcapgames.com; and
  • messages you send us, such as support requests.

When you download a game from the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google handles your store account, downloads and payments under its own privacy policy.

Your use of our games is also governed by our Terms of Service. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@shroomcapgames.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, the content of your message and any attachments, and any details you choose to share about your device or game.

Information collected automatically when you play

Our games include software development kits (SDKs) from analytics, attribution, and game configuration and testing partners. When you play, these SDKs and our game collect the following over an encrypted connection:

TypeExamples
Device and app information Device model and manufacturer, operating system and version, language and region settings, network connection type, and game version.
Identifiers Random identifiers created by our partners’ SDKs for your installation; on iOS, the identifier for vendors (IDFV); your device’s advertising ID (the Google Advertising ID on Android, or the IDFA on iOS only if you allow tracking); and your IP address.
Approximate location Country or region inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise (GPS) location.
Gameplay activity When you start, win, lose or abandon a level, and how far you got; time played; tutorial completion; in-game currency earned and spent; skills, equipment and upgrades you get; and in-level statistics such as which enemy or attack damaged or defeated you.
Game settings and test groups Which version of our game settings your installation received and, if you are part of a test, which test group you are in.
Purchase information If a game offers in-app purchases, we receive confirmation of a completed purchase (the item, price and currency). We never receive your payment card or bank details.
Install and marketing data When you installed and opened the game, and which ad campaign, ad network or store page led to the install (install referrer information).
Diagnostic data Crash reports and technical performance information collected by our game engine provider and, if you have chosen to share it with developers, by Apple or Google.

We don’t attach your name or contact details to this information, and our games don’t set a player ID of their own.

Information that stays on your device

Your game progress, in-game items and currency, and settings such as sound and vibration are saved only on your device. Our games may also read your device’s motion sensors to create visual effects, such as menus that tilt as you move your phone. We don’t receive any of this data. Deleting the game deletes it, unless your device’s own backup feature restores it.

Our games also keep a copy of the game settings they download, so they can start without an internet connection. These settings are the same for everyone in a test group and contain no information about you.

Information we don’t collect

Our games don’t ask for your name, email address, phone number, postal address or date of birth, and they don’t access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location. We don’t collect sensitive personal information, such as health, biometric or financial account information.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Run our games: save your progress and settings on your device and provide the features you use.
  • Understand and improve our games: see where players get stuck, balance difficulty and rewards, and find bugs, crashes and performance problems. We look at trends across many players, not at individual people.
  • Update and test game settings: deliver game settings, such as difficulty, rewards and upgrade costs, without a new app update, and sometimes give different groups of players different settings to see which works best (A/B testing). Groups are chosen at random or by broad criteria, such as game version, country or language.
  • Measure our marketing: learn which ads and campaigns lead people to install and keep playing our games, so we spend our marketing budget wisely.
  • Show ads, in games that have them: deliver and measure ads and limit how often you see the same one.
  • Respond to you: answer support requests, feedback and privacy requests.
  • Keep things safe and lawful: detect fraud such as fake installs, protect our games and players, and comply with legal obligations.

We don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. How we share information

We share information with these categories of partners so they can provide services to us:

PartnerWhat they do for usInformation they receive
Analytics providers Help us understand how our games are played and find problems Device and app information, identifiers, approximate location, gameplay activity, and game settings and test groups
Game configuration and testing providers Deliver game settings to our games and assign players to test groups Device and app information, identifiers (such as a random installation ID), approximate location, language, and game settings and test groups
Attribution and marketing measurement providers Tell us which ads and campaigns lead to installs, and help prevent install fraud Device and app information, identifiers (including advertising ID), IP address, install and marketing data, and selected game events (such as progress milestones and purchases)
Advertising platforms where we promote our games Measure and improve our ad campaigns on their services A limited set of game events (see Advertising and attribution), with your advertising ID if available and related device information
Ad networks, in games that show ads Show ads in our games and measure them Device and app information, identifiers (including advertising ID), approximate location and your interactions with ads
Game engine and technology providers Provide the technology our games are built and run on Limited technical and diagnostic information, such as crash reports and device type
App stores (the Apple App Store and Google Play) Distribute our games and process purchases What their stores and operating systems collect under their own policies; they give us aggregated statistics and, where you agree, crash reports

Our service providers may use the information only to provide their services to us and must protect it with safeguards at least as protective as those described in this policy. Advertising platforms, ad networks, app stores and our game engine provider may also use information as independent controllers, as described in their own privacy policies.

For a current list of the partners our games use, email hello@shroomcapgames.com.

We may also disclose information:

  • if required by law, regulation, court order or other legal process;
  • to protect the rights, property or safety of ShroomCap Games, our players or others, including to prevent fraud;
  • to a buyer or successor if our business or games are sold, merged or reorganized, subject to this policy; and
  • with your consent or at your direction.

5. Advertising and attribution

Promoting our games

We advertise our games on other services, such as social networks. To learn whether those ads work, our attribution provider matches installs to the ads that led to them using install referrer information, your advertising ID (if available) and device information.

Our attribution provider may share a limited set of game events with the advertising platforms where we run campaigns, such as:

  • opening the game;
  • completing the tutorial;
  • reaching a new level; and
  • completing an in-app purchase, with the item, price and currency (if a game offers purchases).

Those platforms use these events to report on and improve our campaigns, and may also use them as described in their own privacy policies.

Ads in our games

If one of our games shows ads (for example, an optional ad you choose to watch for a reward), ad networks serve them and may collect your advertising ID, device information and how you interact with ads, to deliver ads, measure them and limit how often you see the same one. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.

Your device’s tracking controls

On iPhone and iPad, we ask permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before accessing your IDFA. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track,” we don’t access your IDFA, and ad measurement relies on Apple’s privacy-preserving attribution features instead.

On Android, our games can read your Google Advertising ID unless you have deleted it (see Your privacy choices).

6. Your privacy choices

Because our games don’t use accounts, your device settings are the quickest way to control tracking:

  • iPhone and iPad: go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking and turn off tracking for our game, or turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track.”
  • Android: go to Settings › Privacy › Ads (on some devices Settings › Google › Ads) and choose “Delete advertising ID.” Our games and partners then can no longer use it.
  • Stop all collection: uninstall the game. This also deletes the progress and settings saved on your device.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You can opt out of the sharing described in our U.S. state privacy notice by deleting or limiting your advertising ID as described above. You can also email hello@shroomcapgames.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share,” and we will apply your request to the identifiers you give us (see how to make a request).

Our website doesn’t sell or share personal information or use tracking technologies, so browser signals such as Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track have nothing to turn off there.

We only email you to reply to messages you send us; we don’t send marketing email.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, then delete it or de-identify it so it can no longer be linked to a device or person.

InformationHow long we keep it
Game progress and settingsOn your device until you delete the game or its data. We don’t hold a copy.
Gameplay analyticsUp to 24 months after collection. Aggregated reports that don’t identify any device may be kept longer.
Game settings and test groupsUp to 24 months after collection. Test results that don’t identify any device may be kept longer.
Attribution and marketing dataUp to 24 months after collection.
Emails and support requestsUp to 3 years after our last message with you, or longer if needed to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation.
Privacy request recordsUp to 24 months, to show we handled your request as required by law.

Partners that act as independent controllers, such as advertising platforms, ad networks, app stores and our game engine provider, keep information they collect under their own retention policies.

8. Your rights and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it, including in a portable format;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete your information;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising;
  • object to or restrict certain uses of your information;
  • withdraw consent you have given, without affecting earlier processing; and
  • appeal our decision on your request, or complain to a data protection authority.

How to make a request

  1. Email hello@shroomcapgames.com with the subject “Privacy request.”
  2. Tell us what you’d like us to do, which game you play and whether you use iOS or Android.
  3. Because we don’t use accounts, the information we hold is linked to device identifiers rather than your name. To help us find it, include your device’s advertising ID if you can (on Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads). We use what you send only to handle your request.

We will confirm receipt and respond within the time the law requires: generally within one month in the EEA and UK, and within 45 days in U.S. states with privacy laws. If we need more time, we will tell you why. We may ask for more information to verify a request. When you ask us to delete information, we also ask our analytics, attribution, and game configuration and testing partners to delete it.

You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We may ask the agent for proof that you authorized them and ask you to confirm your identity directly with us.

We won’t treat you differently, such as by changing how a game works for you, because you exercised your privacy rights.

9. U.S. state privacy notice

This section applies to residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Virginia. It describes our practices in the 12 months before the “Last updated” date above.

Sources. We get this information from you (when you contact us), from your device through our games and the SDKs in them, and from our partners (such as attribution results and app store statistics).

Purposes. We use and disclose it for the purposes in How we use information. We keep it as described in How long we keep information.

Sale and sharing. We don’t sell personal information for money. Giving identifiers and game events to attribution providers, advertising platforms and ad networks to measure, deliver and optimize advertising may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, “targeted advertising” under other state laws, or a “sale” under some definitions. You can opt out as described in Your privacy choices. We don’t knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the subject “Appeal.” We will respond within the time required by your state’s law. If you disagree with the outcome, you may contact your state attorney general.

California “Shine the Light.” We don’t disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

10. EEA, UK and Swiss users

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, ShroomCap Games is the controller of your personal information. We rely on these legal bases:

PurposeLegal basis

Analytics to understand and improve our gamesOur legitimate interest in making our games better and fixing problems
Updating and testing game settingsOur legitimate interest in balancing our games and learning which changes players enjoy
Measuring our marketingOur legitimate interest in understanding which ads work; on iOS, your consent through App Tracking Transparency before we access your IDFA

Responding to youOur legitimate interest in helping players, or performance of a contract
Security, fraud prevention and legal complianceCompliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interest in protecting our games and players

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time by contacting us; we will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time in your device settings. You don’t have to provide any personal information to play, and limiting tracking doesn’t stop the game from working.

International transfers. We and our partners may process information in the United States, the European Union, Israel and other countries. When personal information leaves the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on adequacy decisions (including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where a partner participates) or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and their UK and Swiss equivalents.

Complaints. Please contact us first so we can try to help. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, such as one listed by the European Data Protection Board, the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office, or Switzerland’s Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

11. Children’s privacy

Our games are made for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age set by law where you live (for example, 16 in some EEA countries).

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact us at hello@shroomcapgames.com. We will delete it and ask our partners to do the same.

12. Security

We protect personal information with reasonable technical and organizational measures. Our games and partners send data over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, we limit access to analytics, attribution and game configuration dashboards to people who need it, and we choose partners that maintain recognized security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.

13. Our website

shroomcapgames.com doesn’t use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or third-party scripts or fonts. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and keep it secure. It keeps these server logs only briefly.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our games, partners or the law change. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, such as collecting new kinds of information or using it in new ways, we will tell you in our games or on this website before the changes take effect and ask for your consent where required.
